“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13

Thanks to everyone who responded to our City Women Summer Survey.  Following on from this, as we take next steps in looking creatively at the future shape of the City Women network, come and join our City Women Get Together on Wednesday 27 September from 1-2pm.  We’ll share nurturing, safe space to connect more fully with one another, enjoying networking and building relationships, as well engaging creatively with ideas about the City Women network, going forwards.  Our open, participative session will be facilitated by Zoe Taylor and Belinda Wadsworth.

To give you a flavour, among a whole range of extremely helpful responses to the survey, you said you are glad of the opportunity to bring Christian women together:   “The beauty of City Women is that it provides a nurturing, safe space to discuss issues affecting women in professional wor.”; “I have valued the one-to-one support”; “I really value the network and look forward to seeing it continue to grow”; “I value the opportunity to meet other likeminded women of faith and to step away from the office for an hour to encourage one another. City Women’s core strengths are trust and openness”.

Going forwards, you also said you’d value: “a bit of relaxing”; space for “being real about the challenges of leadership at a senior level; and feeling that somewhere would be a safe space to share/support/encourage;, “more time for networking and building relationships”; “maybe some purely social get-togethers” with “a change to get to know others in the network”; a “contributory approach”; and “more opportunities to encourage each other”.

In response to these important contributions from across the City Women network, we are glad to shape our lunch hour City Women session on Wednesday 27 September as relaxed, creative space to meet one another and explore together what we want City Women to offer, going forwards.

This session will be facilitated by Zoe Taylor, a longstanding member of our City Women network, and Belinda Wadsworth, our Interim Manager at ChaplaincyPlus.  Zoe is an experienced Learning and Development professional with a particular interest in digital learning, who has worked across various sectors including higher education and the financial services industry.  She is a lifelong member of the Moravian Church and she has served as a local church elder and Provincial Board member.  She is also mum to Eve (3) and Alex (1).

City Women is moving into a new season as ChaplaincyPlus moves into a new season of “letting the Network lead in meeting the need”.  In line with other Network Groups – City Legal, City Vibes etc – we are moving towards City Women being network-led. Looking ahead, we envisage a group of perhaps 2-6 people from the City Women network taking the group forwards, supported by a Network Groups Coordinator working as part of the ChaplaincyPlus team.

Join our in person City Women event on Wednesday 27 September from 1-2pm.  Book your place now.

  • Thanks to Browne Jacobson for hosting our event: 15th Floor, 103 Colmore Row, Birmingham, B3 3AG
  • Donations: There will be no charge for the event. However, ChaplaincyPlus relies on donations to deliver our vision to help people encounter the depth dimension of faith and life, so we are giving those who chose to do so the opportunity to support ChaplaincyPlus with a donation, when booking a place for this event, to enable our work to remain open to all.
  • Inclusive: This lunchtime session is particularly offered to the Christians across the business community and will be accessible to Christians of all denominations. We are also glad to welcome people of all faiths and none.
